East Yorkshire marine pilot Eddie Scott is through to the finals of Masterchef UK after impressing judges once again with his culinary skills.
Friday’s episode of Masterchef saw six semi-finalists competing for a coveted spot in the finals. The chefs were asked to create a dish inspired by the Top 40 Hit song – ‘Buttery Biscuit Base’, which is based on presenter’s Gregg Wallace’s well-used phrase.
Eddie impressed judges with his take on a baked cheesecake. Inspired by his travels to New York, Eddie explained he wanted to create a variation of one of his favourite desserts which he has loved since he was 14.

He whipped up a baked gorgonzola and lemon cheesecake with poached peach and homemade vanilla ice cream on the side.
Judges were blown away by his ability to take a simple dish and elevate it to the next level. They said the clever dish had a similar flavour palette to cheese and cracker with the strong cheese and salty base.
They said: “There are hidden layers to this simple looking cheesecake and it works. I thought it looked safe, until I tasted it then I realised it was anything but safe.
“I couldn’t believe all that flavour and elegance was coming out of a slice of cheesecake, it is a really sophisticated dish.”
Speaking to Hull Live, Eddie previously said: “It has been such a fantastic experience. When I applied for the show, it was just about my joy of cooking, rather than thinking I would progress through to the semi-finals.
“Going into it, I tried not to put any pressure on myself because food is what I love. I am so thankful for the amazing opportunities the show has brought.”
Eddie has now progressed to the finals where he will be competing with four other chefs for the Masterchef title.
