Do you see yourself as an aspiring food critic, capable of leaving detailed accounts of the highs and lows of your latest takeaway?

If so, you should apply to be one of Deliveroo’s three new ‘Rooviewers’, food reviewers who will get a year’s worth of free eats in exchange for their write-ups.

With big chain restaurants offering food deliveries via Deliveroo, as well as up-and-coming eateries and local legends, the brand needs three people who can share their hits and misses with other app users.

The roles have been created as part of the platform’s new campaign ‘Deliveroo Presents: The Year of Great Food.

Its Rooviewers will be expected to trial the thousands of options available to order, helping others identify hidden gems. They may also be called upon to feature in Deliveroo’s upcoming marketing campaigns.

In order to qualify as a Rooviewer, Deliveroo asks that applicants have:

  • Experience in eating all food types

  • A willingness to try different cuisines

  • A palette for savoury and sweet, spicy and saucy

  • Familiarity with high-street chains as well as a desire to sample local independents

  • A sense of culinary adventure

  • The ability to translate a great foodie experience into written or visual recommendations/critique

If successful, over the course of the next 12 months, Rooviewers will be given credit to use in return for providing the food delivery service with written reviews of restaurants and food experience, along with pictures and videos of them taste-testing dishes, to potentially feature on the site’s blog and social media channels.

Aisha Jefferson at Deliveroo said: “Great food is there to be discovered and we want to help more people find it.

“We know our customers love food, everything from local favourites to high-street staples, so this is an opportunity for any Deliveroo devotees with a good palate and a taste for great food to trial new, mind-blowing meals.

“In the past year, we’ve welcomed more than 20,000 new restaurants on the platform. Now we need three curious connoisseurs who ‘get’ food as much as we do, to hero the hidden gems and help us in our year of food discovery.”

As well as local chippies and Michelin-starred restaurants in the Rooviewer’s local area, the successful candidates will also be sent dishes from restaurants all over the UK.

Applications to be a Rooviewer are open from today (January 21) until February 4, to anyone over the age of 18 in the UK.
