Food festival returns to Margam Park and here is how to get tickets

[ad_1]

Foodies rejoice! One of the biggest food festivals in south Wales is getting ready to cook up its biggest banquet yet. The Great British Food Festival will be returning to the spectacular grounds of Margam Park after going down a treat last year, with tickets gobbled up for the two-day food spectacular.

With delicious delights to tickle all tastebuds, including more than 100 top local and national producers and mouthwatering street food, this is not your run-of-the-mill food fair. There will be chef demonstrations, BBQ displays, a bake-off, food challenges as well as live music, craft stalls, and foraging tours. Not forgetting the kids, there will be plenty to keep them amused from cookery sessions, free circus skills, children’s rides, and a mini zoo.

The UK-wide touring festival takes place on September 3 and 4. So, if you love your food and fancy a fun day out with friends and family, this is the perfect event for you.

Come rain or shine, there will be so many activities to tuck into, with food being the main ingredient, of course.

The Great British Food Festival combines the nation’s love of great food and drink with some of the country’s most treasured locations, providing a unique opportunity to explore new flavours and beautiful venues, all at the same time. You will be spoilt for choice with all the food and activities on offer, which include:

Artisan market: From chocolate to chutney and cheese to chilli sauces, there will be something to delight your tastebuds. Fancy a tipple? Try out craft ales and spirits that have been made virtually on your doorstep. Meet the makers, let them tell you about their creations and enjoy sampling their products. Featuring a mix of national and regional producers bringing homemade products to you, you won’t find these items in your local supermarkets.

Street food: From amazing hand-crafted burgers to delicately spiced curries. There is something for every taste whether you are vegan, vegetarian, or meat-eaters. Many stalls offer gluten-free and nut-free options too. Those with a sweet tooth will be spoilt for choice with all the wonderful sweet treats on offer too.

Bars: Enjoy the day with a refreshing pint of craft ale or locally sourced drinks, whether it is an alcoholic cocktail or mocktail.

Chef demos: Learn from the very best in the food business with live cookery demonstrations from local chefs and bakers, including Great British Bake Off stars and experts in the field. Let them inspire you to impress your family and friends, with their guidance on how to create and perfect dishes at home. They will take you through one (or two) of their favourite recipes while sharing shortcuts and tips of the trade. Keep your eyes peeled on the website nearer the time for the full line-up.

BBQ stage: Impress your family and friends at your next barbeque with the help of BBQ Ben. There will be themed classes running throughout the day so whether you want to learn how to perfect your skills or try cooking seafood on the barbie, there will be plenty to learn from. Plus you get the chance to taste Ben’s amazing foods and delicious sauces. This is always a winner!

While there will be plenty to nibble at throughout the day, there is also a packed line-up of activities to enjoy. The Men v Food challenges will provide hilarious, fun viewing or be a daredevil and take part yourself and try winning the crown for eating the hottest chilis or putting away the most bangers.

If you are happy to sit back in the sun (fingers crossed!) and chill out after all that eating, then why not get a craft ale, kick back and watch one of the many musicians on stage. From stunning solo artists and delightful duets to full-on party bands, there is something for everyone on the music stage at Margam Park. With a new act on every hour throughout the day, there will be a day of endless fun.

There will be free circus skills where your little ones can try their hand at juggling, riding a unicycle, or attempting plate spinning. There will be a bouncy castle and fairground rides, and a free mini petting zoo.

Budding chefs will be able to cook up a treat at the kids cooking school, where they can make a number of sweet treats for all the family to enjoy. Parents, you can stand back, watch and relax and best of all, leave all the cleaning up to the team. Make sure you book early though as places go quick.
