A new Indian takeaway is being launched today by Leicester venue Winstanley House.

The takeaway service, called Black Chilli, will feature food created by the team behind the Asian catering at Winstanley House and its sister venue, The City Rooms.

You can look forward to enjoying what the venue describes as a “mouth-watering menu created by Head Chef Rishi”.

The food will be prepared in the newly fitted takeaway kitchen at Winstanley House, and will be available from 5pm today.

The menu offers a wide selection, with Indian street snacks such as vegetable samosa and batata vada, starters including Amritsari fish pakora and paneer tikka, and Indo-Chinese starters including Szechuan mogo and Manchow mushrooms.

There’s classic mains such as chicken tikka masala and lamb rogan josh, and vegetarian mains such as vegetable biryani and dal makhani, plus chef’s specials including garlic chilli chicken and king prawn curry.

Naan breads and rice are available to complete the meal.

Black Chilli will be open Wednesday and Thursday from 5pm until 10pm, Friday and Saturday from 5pm until 10.30pm and Sunday from 5pm until 10pm. Free delivery is available within a three mile radius, with a minimum order of £20.

Located in the former Braunstone Hall, Winstanley House is a boutique hotel, luxury venue and home to the contemporary British restaurant and steakhouse Black Iron.

The venue, which is set within 168 acres of parkland, opened in 2017 following a huge refurbishment project.
