This Whipped Feta Dip is a quick and easy appetizer you can make with just 5 ingredients in 5 minutes. It’s creamy, salty, tangy, and delicious spread on crostini, pita chips, or with veggies!
Feta dip
Feta cheese is trending wherever I look! This salty and tangy cheese is mixed into pasta or baked and spread on crostinis. I am here for this trend! My family enjoyed it in the chicken skillet with tomatoes and feta. It was delicious! This time, I whipped it into a creamy dip! It’s a great summer dip because it’s chilled and the flavors are so fresh.
You can serve the dip as is or top it with roasted garlic. I followed my air fryer roasted garlic recipe but you can also simmer garlic cloves in olive oil in a small saucepan, for 10 minutes or until golden. The oil will be delicious too and is perfect for drizzling over the dip!
Ingredients:
- feta cheese
- sour cream
- lemon
- garlic
- salt and pepper
How to make whipped feta dip?
- Place all ingredients, except salt and pepper, in a food processor. I used my trusted Cuisinart smart stick blender.
- Process until thick and creamy. Add more sour cream if needed.
- Taste and season with salt and pepper.
What is feta cheese?
Feta is a Greek cheese made with sheep’s milk. It’s soft and crumbles easily. The flavor is salty, tangy and creamy. Feta is sold in blocks, often in brine. It may remind you of goat cheese, as the flavors are similar. The main difference is the type of milk they are made of: feta from sheep’s milk and goat cheese from goat’s milk.
How to serve feta dip?
My favorite way to serve this dip is with toasted baguette slices. I used my air fryer and toasted the baguettes at 380 degrees F for 4 minutes, just enough to give them that golden color. Pita chips, crackers and fresh veggies are also fantastic with this dip!
Variations of feta dip:
You can make different flavors of this feta dip by adding the following ingredients:
- sun-dried tomatoes and their oil
- sriracha for a spicy version
- roasted red peppers
- caramelized onions
- sauteed spinach and chopped marinated artichokes
- and more!
Storing leftovers:
I recommend storing leftovers of feta dip in a container with a lid, in the fridge, for up to 4 days. The dip will thicken as it chills. You can re-whip it easily in the food processor.
